Learning Licence

Steps to obtain your Learner's Licence
  • Check up if you are medically fit.
    (Your doctor will confirm this on page two of Form 2)

  • Applicant should
      • 16 years old if you are to drive personal vehicles below 50 cc with parents concern.
      • 18 years old if you are to drive personal vehicles above 51 cc.
      • 20 years old if you are to drive transport vehicles (passenger & goods transport).
      • 8th standard pass for Licence to drive transport vehicles.

  • Form 1& Form 2 (for non-transport, i.e. personal vehicle) or Form1A & Form2 (for transport Licence i.e. autorikshaw, taxi, truck used for transport business)

  • Attach to the form
      • Two passport-size photographs.
      • One proof of your address such as
        1] Electral Roll.
        2] Life Insurance Policy
        3] Passport.
        4] Pay slip issued by any office of the Central              Government or a State Goverment or a local Body.
        5] Voter's card.
        6] School Certificate.
        7] Birth Certificate.
        8]Certificate Granted By a registered Medical practitioner not bellow the rank of Civil Surgeon, as to age of the applicant :

        (original and its photocopy; original will be returned to you).
Provided that where the applicant is not able to produce any of the above mentioned document for sufficient reason, the licensing authority may accept any affiavit sworn by the applicant before an Executive Magistrate , or first class .Judicial Magistrate or a Notary Public as evidence of age and address.
Note : If you are to drive public/goods carrier vehicle, you have to fill up Form 5 and attach proof of your address and age as in 1 and 2 above.

Lerning Licence is issued on conducting test of knowledge about Road safety rules & traffic signs.
